Matkapojat Luontoteko-taulukosta näet matkatyypeittäin matkan hiilijalanjälkihyvityksen keskiarvoisen suuruusluokan.

Matkapojat on valinnut hyvityskumppanikseen suomalaisen Luonnonperintösäätiön. Luonnonperintösäätiön tavoitteena on suojella suomalaista luontoa sekä lisätä Suomen metsien hiilinieluja. Luonnonperintösäätiön toiminta-ajatus on Suomen luonnonsuojelun edistäminen ja luonnonalueiden säilyttäminen. Sinäkin voit Matkapojat Oy:n asiakkaana osallistua Suomen kansallisen hiilijalanjäljen hyvitystavoitteen saavuttamiseen.

Luontoteko hiilijalanjäljen hyvitysyksikkönä

Matkapojat Luontoteko-taulukossa on esitetty matkojemme laskennallinen 100%:n hiilijalanjälkihyvitys sekä suojeltavana metsäalueena että kustannuksena per henkilö. Laskennallista hyvitysyksikköä kutsumme nimellä Luontoteko. Yksi Luontoteko vastaa kuuden neliön metsäalan suojelua.

Matkapoikien matkavaraamossa on jokaisen matkan kohdalla ilmoitettu kyseistä matkaa koskeva tarkka hiilijalanjälki ja varauksen yhteydessä tarjotaan mahdollisuus hankkia sitä vastaava määrä Luontotekoja. Lisäämällä Luontoteon matkavarauksellesi varaamon lisäpalvelut-vaiheessa, osallistut metsien suojeluun! Kaikki kertyneet Luontoteko -varat lahjoitetaan lyhentämättömänä Luonnonperintösäätiölle.

Päästöjen laskennasta

Taulukon päästöt on laskettu matkanjärjestäjiä varten kehitetyn Carmacal-laskurin avulla. Laskuri huomioi kaikki matkaan sisältyvät osatekijät ja laskee niiden perusteella matkan tuottaman hiilijalanjäljen kiloissa / henkilö. Päästöjen laskenta Carmacalissa perustuu seuraavilta toimijoilta saatavaan dataan ja kertoimiin:

Mitä hiilijalanjälki tarkoittaa?

Hiilijalanjäljellä tarkoitetaan tuotteen tai palvelun aiheuttama ilmastokuormaa eli sitä kuinka paljon kasvihuonekaasuja tuotteen tai toiminnan elinkaaren aikana syntyy.

Hiilijalanjälki ilmoitetaan yleensä kaikki kasvihuonekaasupäästöt sisältävänä hiilidioksidiekvivalenttilukuna (CO2e) kiloissa tai tonneissa. Tämä luku tarkoittaa hiilidioksidin ilmastovaikutusta eli ilmastokuormaa. Kuuden metsäneliön suojeluteolla hyvitetään 95,31 kg CO2e.

Compensate your travel carbon footprint! Luontoteko chart

From Matkapojat´s Luontoteko chart, you can see the average magnitude of the trip's carbon footprint compensation by trip type. Matkapojat has chosen the Luonnonperintösäätiö as its compensation partner. The Nature Heritage Foundation aims to protect Finnish nature and increase the carbon sinks of Finland's forests. The mission of the Luonnonperintösäätiö is to promote the conservation of nature in Finland and to preserve natural areas. As a customer of Matkapojat Oy, you can also participate in achieving Finland's national carbon footprint compensation goal.

Luontoteko as a carbon footprint offset unit

In the Matkapojat Luontoteko chart, we present the calculated 100% carbon footprint compensation for our trips, both as protected forest area and cost per person. We refer to this precalculated compensation unit as Luontoteko. Single Luontoteko corresponds to the protection of six square meters of forest area.

The specific carbon footprint related to your trip is calculated by Tour Operator Matkapojat and stated on each product. During the reservation, there is an opportunity to purchase a corresponding number of Luototekos. By adding Luontoteko to your travel reservation at the tour operator´s additional services step, you participate in the protection of forests! All accumulated Luontoteko funds are donated in full to the Luonnonperintösäätiö.

Regarding emission calculations

The emissions in the table have been calculated using the Carmacal calculator developed for travel organizers. The calculator takes into account all the components included in the trip and calculates the carbon footprint of the trip in kilograms per person based on these factors. The emission calculations in Carmacal are based on data and coefficients from the following sources: Hotel information: Travelife for AccommodationFlight information: RDC Aviation & IATALand and water transport: MOBITOOL & University of BredaActivity information: Travelife for Tour Operators.

What does carbon footprint mean?

The carbon footprint refers to the climate impact caused by a product or service, that is, how much greenhouse gases are generated during the lifecycle of the product or activity.The carbon footprint is usually expressed as a carbon dioxide equivalent figure (CO2e) in kilograms or tons, including all greenhouse gas emissions. This figure represents the climate impact of carbon dioxide, i.e., the climate burden. The conservation of six square meters of forest offsets 95.31 kg of CO2e.
