Matkapojat Oy on valinnut kotimaiseksi yhteistyökumppanikseen 1.7.2025 alkaen Luonnonperintösäätiön. Säätiön metsiensuojelua tukemalla Matkapojat haluaa hyvittää matkustamisesta syntyviä hiilipäästöjä. Luonnonperintösäätiön tukeminen tarkoittaa konkreettista tekoa suomalaisen luonnon hyväksi.

Matkapojat Oy:n asiakkaille metsien suojelun tukeminen on vapaaehtoista. Voit valita sen lisäpalveluna osaksi matkaasi. Valitsemalla matkasi yhteydessä tarjottavan Luontoteon, hyvität matkastasi syntyvän hiilijalanjäljen. Sinä Matkapojat Oy:n asiakkaana osallistut tällä tavalla Suomen kansallisen hiilijalanjäljen hyvitystavoitteen saavuttamiseen.

Vastuullisuustekona Luontoteko!

Vastuullisuusteko on toimenpide, jolla edistetään kestävää kehitystä ympäristöä tukien sekä ihmisten hyvinvointia sosiaalisesti ja taloudellisesti. Luonnonperintösäätiön toiminnan tukeminen yhdistää nämä tavoitteet; ilmastotekona sidomme hiiltä ilmakehästä, kasvatamme Suomen hiilinieluja, metsiä suojelemalla ja rauhoittamalla luonnonsuojelualueita tuemme luonnon monimuotoisuutta.

Näin sijoittamasi raha käytetään

Luonnonperintösäätiön toiminta-ajatus on Suomen luonnonsuojelun edistäminen ja luonnonalueiden säilyttäminen. Säätiö hankkii – ostamalla tai lahjoitusten kautta – sopivia alueita, ensisijaisesti metsiä, ja hakee niille pysyvän, lakisääteisen rauhoituksen.

Yhden luontoteon hinta on 3 euroa, sillä suojellaan kuuden neliön metsäalaa. Matkastasi laskettu hiilijalanjälki kertoo, monellako luontoteolla matkustuksen aiheuttama ilmastokuorma on hyvitettävissä.

Mitä tapahtuu Luontotekoon maksetulle päästöhyvitykselle?

Luontotekoa varten matkavarauksen yhteydessä maksettavat rahat tilitetään lyhentämättömänä Luonnonperintösäätiölle. Matkapojat Oy julkaisee vuosittain kotisivuillaan summan, jonka se on kerännyt Luonnonperintösäätiölle. Raportoinnissa erotellaan oman toiminnan päästöjen hyvitystä vastaan tehty lahjoitus sekä matkustajilta kerätty vapaaehtoinen Luonnonperintösäätiön toiminnan tukemiseen osoitettu summa, sekä se, kuinka paljon CO2e (hiilidioksidiekvivalentti) päästöjä on tuolla summalla hyvitetty.

Matkapojat Oy has chosen the Luonnonperintösäätiö as its domestic sustainable partner starting from July 1, 2025. By supporting the foundation's forest conservation efforts, Matkapojat aims to offset the carbon emissions generated by traveling. Supporting the Luonnonperintösäätiö means taking concrete action for the benefit of Finnish nature. For Matkapojat Oy's customers, supporting forest conservation is voluntary. You can choose it as an additional service as part of your trip. By selecting the Luontoteko offered in connection with your trip, you will offset the carbon footprint generated by your travel. As a customer of Matkapojat Oy, you are participating in achieving Finland's national carbon footprint offset goal.

Luontoteko is a measure that promotes sustainable development by supporting the environment as well as the social and economic well-being of people.sustainable development by supporting the environment and the well-being of people socially and economically. Supporting the activities of the Luonnnperntösäätiö combines these goals; as a climate action, we bind carbon from the atmosphere, increase Finland's carbon sinks by protecting forests, and by preserving protected areas, we support biodiversity.

This is how your money is used

The mission of the Luonnonperintösäätiö is to promote nature conservation in Finland and to preserve natural areas. The foundation acquires - through purchase or donations - suitable areas, primarily forests, and seeks permanent, legal protection for them. The cost of one nature action is 3 euros, which protects an area of six square meters of forest. The carbon footprint calculated from your journey indicates how many Luontotekos must be purchased to compensate for the climate impact caused by the travel.

What happens to the carbon offset paid for by Luontoteko?

The money paid during the travel reservation for Luontoteko is forwarded in full to the Luonnnperintösäätiö. Matkapojat Oy publishes annually on its website the amount it has collected for the Luonnonperintösäätiö. In this reporting, donations made to offset the emissions of its own operations are separated from the voluntary amount collected from travelers. These donations are designated to support the activities of the Luonnonperintösäätiö. On same report we also publish the ammounts of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) emissions that have been offsetted.
